Cocowood properties and processing facts

Cocowood is the processed stem fibre of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera). The outer, higher density stem material has properties similar to many hardwood timbers and is suitable for high value flooring products.

The fact sheet summarises cocowood's physical, mechanical and chemical properties; natural durability classification; susceptibility to pests and staining; moisture correction factors and specifications for drying, sawing, machining and grading.
